Asian-QA Online Forum Series 2020

Dear colleagues, Warm greetings! We hope this mail finds you and your loved ones well and safe. We are happy to inform you that the ASEAN-QA Forum 2020 will be held in a series of online sessions starting in July and culminating with the main Online Forum in October 2020. This year’s Forum revolves around the theme “Drivers for Change: Quality Assurance in Times of Disruption and Innovation”. The Forum aims to provide quality assurance (QA) practitioners all over the ASEAN region and beyond an avenue to discuss current pressing issues which have been abruptly brought upon higher education institutions (HEIs) with the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing restrictions. The first Forum session is dubbed “Going Digital: How Do We Assure Quality in the Shift” to be held on July 23, 2020, 2:00 pm (Jakarta/Bangkok time, GMT +7) via zoom. This will center on how HEIs with different contexts and different levels of experiences handled the sudden shift, and how QA can better support HEI management navigate the whole teaching and learning process during this pandemic. Speakers include Ms. Miné de Klerk, Hybrid Learning Project manager at Stellenbosch University (South Africa); Dr. Kiran Kaur, director of Quality Management and Enhancement Centre at the University of Malaya (Malaysia); Dr. Klaus HimpslGutermann, head of the Centre for Educational Technology and Innovation, College of Teacher Education, Vienna University (Austria); and Dr. Thomas Strasser, professor of language methodology and technology-enhanced learning at the College of Teacher Education, Vienna University (Austria). All interested participants will have a chance to join group discussions to exchange ideas and insights with colleagues and QA practitioners. Please fill out the registration form here. We will notify you of your grouping for the interactive part of the session if you are interested to join the discussions and to share your experiences in shifting to online learning. If you have queries, please message us at anytime. See you online on July 23! We are excited to hear from you.
